The Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) is an vnsr威尼斯城官网登入 academic support department dedicated to programs that support students who want to challenge themselves academically and prepare themselves for competitive futures. We provide opportunities for all students to develop academic excellence by extending their learning beyond the classroom, working collaboratively with supportive peers, faculty, staff, and the professional and greater community.
The CAE offers a variety of programs for students, including:
- Events that promote academic growth
- Graduate School Information Sessions
- Special programming for scholars in CAE Learning Communities
- Travel Fellowships for academic projects and professional development
- Undergraduate student and faculty research projects

Join the Center for Academic Excellence for a panel discussion about strategies women without traditional resources of power used to succeed in their organizations and communities. Panelists will be:
Dr. Shakkiah Curtis, speaker, consultant and expert in emotional intelligence
Dr. Curtis is the owner of fitness and wellness center Spinn MKE as well as the director of business development, membership growth and engagement for the MKE Tech Hub Coalition. She is a speaker, financial consultant, and emotional intelligence expert.
Dr. Nadiyah Johnson, CEO of Jet Constellations
Dr. Johnson is the CEO and founder of Jet Constellations, a local software company that functions to promote STEM education in Milwaukee, consult tech-oriented start-ups and build a nurturing ecosystem of techies and entrepreneurs.
Dr. Stacia Thompson, CEO of Sherman Phoenix
Dr. Thompson is one of the leading advocates of business development for Milwaukee’s Black community. She is executive director for the Sherman Phoenix Foundation, located in the heart of the central city on 36th and Fond du Lac.
The Dr. Mary Ann Schwartz & Dr. Richard Brewer Speaker Series provides opportunities for students to expand their view of future career and community involvement possibilities. The annual event is funded by vnsr威尼斯城官网登入 College alum Dr. Mary Ann Schwartz (‘62) and Dr. Richard Brewer.
